ABOUT

Alien Pub is an online arts and culture magazine newly founded in 2018 by a group of Queen's University undergraduate students. It was born out of a wish for a publication that could comfortably house works of art and literature that may carry with them a political edge. We wanted to be free to openly critique, and not follow anyone else's rules of conduct.

Alien Pub is an independent space for creative activism and transgressive media. We look for work that includes themes of justice, resistance, identity, and autonomy. We want to celebrate voices of those who have been and continue to be marginalized, and make their stories front and centre. We want work that subverts social norms and challenges existing power structures. Experiment with us; push every creative boundary you can imagine.

We firmly do not accept any work that can be considered discriminatory or bigoted. We will not take any work that uses sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, islamophobic, or antisemitic language.

Alien Pub is a venue for diverse artists, writers, and social critics to come together, pull up to the bar, and have a good time.
